The Benefits of Using Natural Shower Cleaning Products

Why Clean your Shower with Natural Cleaning Products

Cleaning your shower is an important part of maintaining a hygienic and healthy bathroom, but many commercial cleaning products contain harsh chemicals that can be harmful to both the environment and your health.

Chemical-free shower cleaning can be a safer and more environmentally-friendly alternative. Here are some benefits of using a natural DIY shower cleaner:

  1. Safer for your health - Natural cleaning products are often free from harsh chemicals and toxins that can be harmful to your health. Natural products can reduce exposure to these chemicals and keep you and your family safe.
  2. Environmentally friendly - Many commercial cleaning products contain ingredients that can harm the environment, such as phosphates and chlorine. Natural cleaning products are often biodegradable and less harmful to the environment.
  3. It's a more cost effective alternative - Many natural cleaning products, such as vinegar and baking soda, are inexpensive and readily available. Making your own cleaning solutions using these natural ingredients can be more cost-effective than buying commercial cleaning products.
  4. Just as effective as commercial products - Natural cleaning products can be just as effective as commercial cleaning products when it comes to removing dirt, grime, and stains from your shower. Ingredients like vinegar and baking soda are known for their cleaning and disinfecting properties.
  5. Versatile - Natural cleaning products can be used for a variety of cleaning tasks, not just in your shower. For example, vinegar can be used to clean windows and mirrors, while baking soda can be used to clean kitchen surfaces.

By using natural shower cleaning products, you can enjoy these benefits and keep your shower clean and hygienic without the use of harsh chemicals

How to Make Your Own Natural Shower Cleaner Using Vinegar: Step-by-Step Guide

Natural Shower Cleaner Recipe

When it comes to a natural shower cleaner, vinegar is the absolute winner. This method helped me clean my shower screen with minimal effort. Following is what you'll need:

What you'll need

  • White vinegar
  • Lemons
  • Spray bottle
  • Microfibre cloth

Directions

  1. Spray glass shower door with vinegar solution: Fill a spray bottle with straight vinegar (or vinegar and lemon). The mild acid in both vinegar and lemons is what is helpful here.
  2. Soak shower screen: Spray the vinegar liberally onto the shower screen, and leave it to soak. To guarantee good results, spray the vinegar, set a timer for ten minutes, and give it another spray. Vinegar is a liquid, so some of it runs off the glass. I ended up spraying it three times and leaving it for a total of thirty minutes to soak.
  3. Scrub away the soap scum: Use a microfibre cloth and hot water to wipe/scrub away the soap scum and calcification. When I did my ‘test’ patch, the scum came off easily – no elbow grease required!
