***The New Mattress Cleaning Service is effective on areas of contamination up to the size of a dinner plate. If the contaminated area is greater than the size of a dinner plate, then the contamination may be too significant for effective decontamination and replacing the mattress may be the best course of action. Unfortunately, not all stains of this size can be removed because they will have penetrated too deep into the mattress fibres for our cleaning solution to be effective. For your health, we recommend replacing the mattress.

Yes, deep cleaning a mattress can remove old urine stains and odours. Try the following:
Use a mixture of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap.
Apply it to the affected area and let it sit for several hours
Vacuum up the baking soda.
Repeat as necessary and allow the mattress to fully dry before using it again.
Mattress odours caused by human urine can be removed with white vinegar, baking soda, or hydrogen peroxide. However, if the stain is old or fairly substantial in size, it's best to seek professional assistance.
For deep cleaning, keep baking soda on the mattress for at least 24 hours. For regular cleaning and deodorising, 30 minutes to an hour is sufficient.
Start by stripping all the bedding and pillowcases off the mattress and wash them in hot water.
Vacuum the mattress thoroughly to remove any dust, dirt, and debris.
Spot-clean any visible stains with a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and dish soap.
Sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the entire mattress and let it sit for several hours (ideally overnight). Baking soda can help absorb any remaining moisture and neutralise any odours.
Vacuum the baking soda off the mattress using a clean upholstery attachment.
Use a handheld steam cleaner to sanitise the mattress. Make sure to cover the entire surface of the mattress with the steam, including the edges and corners.
Allow the mattress to air dry completely before putting the bedding back on.
Finally, spray a disinfectant solution over the entire surface of the mattress and let it air dry. You can make your own disinfectant solution by mixing equal parts water and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle.
