To begin, we thoroughly clean the area to be sanded and, as necessary, drive nails deeper into the boards.
Afterwards, the floor is sanded with a weighted rotary sander, which lasts longer than a belt sander since it removes less wood.
To remove scuffs and discolouration and give your floor a clean surface, we keep sanding it with progressively finer grades of sandpaper.
We then use a hand-held rotary sander to sand the edges, and then an orbital sander to give the surface a smooth, scratch-free finish.
To get your floor ready for coating, we apply a barrier seal on it. If necessary, a thin layer of the desired toner can be applied after this.
For a durable finish, the final step is to apply two coats of high-density, two-pack water-based polyurethane.

Electrodry guarantees an all-inclusive floor sanding and refinishing process. We take the time and effort to make your floor gets the treatment it needs. Electrodry technicians use a weighted rotary sander instead of a belt sander. This means we take off less wood during the sanding process, which means your floorboards will last longer. Our equipment also allows us to refinish delicate timber floors without causing damage to them. We always use at least three grades of sanding discs, gradually increasing the fineness to remove damage without risking sanding swirls or scratches.
We make sure we keep you in the loop, giving you concise information about pricing and timing, as well as having conversations about what kind of finishes you might want for your floorboards. Our expertise means we know how to use the right sandpaper grades for the age and condition of the floor, and we use the right tools and processes to get the details just right.

ELECTRODRY'S COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
To clean a room after sanding floors, sweep up larger debris with a broom, vacuum the entire room with a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter, wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth, and mop the floors with a damp mop. Allow everything to dry completely before using any finishes or sealers. Wear a dust mask and eye protection to avoid inhaling dust or debris.
While it is possible to use a hand sander to sand a floor, it's not recommended due to its small surface area capacity. Hand sanders are designed for small or detailed sanding projects. Using it on a floor can be time-consuming and physically demanding. It's recommended to use a floor sander for better efficiency and results.
Avoid walking on freshly sanded floors until finishes or sealers have fully cured. This can take several hours to several days. Walking on the floor before the finish has fully cured can cause marks. Following the manufacturer's instructions and any advice provided by the professional is crucial.
Many floor sanding companies use a technician and a junior apprentice, and apply two or three solvent-based coatings, taking a day to dry between each coat. Electrodry uses skilled two-man crews of experienced technicians, and we use a rapid-curing two-pack floor coating that lets us apply multiple coats of polyurethane in one day. That’s how we finish the job faster!
Cleaning the floor before sanding is crucial to remove debris that could damage the sander. It’s important to follow these steps:
1). Sweeping or vacuuming to remove loose debris
2). Use a damp mop or cloth to clean the surface.
3). Wait for the floor to dry completely before sanding.
