Frequently Asked Questions

Will Timber Restore give the same result as having my floor sanded?

The results from Timber Restore will be relevant to the condition of the floor. If your floor is in reasonable condition with average levels of wear, then we can usually achieve an amazing result with minimal difference to a freshly sanded floor. If the floor has suffered from heavy wear, then some of the wear may still be visible, but much, much less noticeable.

Will there be an odour?

The Timber Restore coatings have almost no odour. If you open a few windows in your home in the first hour then your unlikely to notice any smell at all from our coatings at all.

How much should I expect to pay?

The cost for the Timber Restore Service is between $20 and $24 per square metre depending on the size of the job and the condition of the floor. This works out to $270 to $315 per average (13 square metre) room.

Will all of the scratches be removed?

Timber Restore will remove the smaller scratches. Deep scratches will be greatly minimised and often removed. If the scratch has penetrated the polyurethane coating and reach the timber underneath, then any contamination or discolouration of the timber from moisture will still be visible.

I’m ripping my carpet up. Will Timber Restore be suitable to coat my floor?

If you floor has previously been sanded and coated with polyurethane, Timber Restore may be the perfect system for your floor. If your floor has never been sanded, then we recommend you employ a floor sander to give you the best possible result.
