We use our dry cleaning machine to lift stains and dirt, without excess water.
We use a carpet rake to groom the carpet. This opens up the carpet fibres for drying, as well as giving the carpet a smooth finish.
Your next carpet dry cleaning or upholstery cleaning product now includes Electro-Shield™, a residually active sanitising agent that kills 99.9% of bacteria and a broad spectrum of germs and other micro-organisms.
Electro-Shield™ will continue to sanitise your carpet or lounge for up to 4 months, while other sanitising agents will only work in the seconds or minutes following application.
Electro-Shield’s key active ingredient is scientifically structured to bind to fibres, protecting your carpet for up to 4 months in residential environments and up to 2 months in high traffic areas or commercial premises.

Steam cleaning, more properly known as hot water extraction cleaning, differs from dry cleaning in a few ways. The most obvious and important difference is that dry cleaning uses a dramatically smaller quantity of water. Steam cleaning works by injecting 10 to 50 litres of water into the carpet in each room, and then extracting it out again. This method can be quite effective, as long as spots are treated effectively beforehand. The main downside of steam cleaning is that it leaves a lot of water in your carpet, meaning you’re looking at at least 4 to 6 hours before you should walk on your carpets again.
Dry cleaning works treating stains and dirt with special dry cleaning solutions, which loosen the soiling. Then, when we do our conditioning rinse, the grime comes out easily. Because we work smarter, not harder, we don’t need to use 50 litres of water per room. This means your carpet is dry enough to walk on by the time we’re finished the job, and completely dry within an hour.
At Electrodry, we are very proud of carpet dry cleaning. Back in the early 80s when Paul Burchell introduced carpet dry cleaning, people were skeptical. But the system works, and over the last 30 years, we’ve proved that, time and time again. Now Electrodry are the best carpet cleaners in Australia and have a presence in every state in Australia.
Out in rural New South Wales and Victoria, our dry cleaning is a serious environment advantage. If you need your carpets dry cleaned but can’t justify it during a drought, don’t worry. Our dry cleaning method uses hardly any water, (less than a 5-minute shower) and you can rest easy knowing that with Electrodry dry cleaning, the Murray won’t stop flowing on our watch.
Red wine quickly penetrates into the carpet fibres and even if you act quickly to clean up the spill, it can still leave a stain. If a red wine stain sits for too long, it can be very difficult to remove once it seeps into the carpet fibres and the backing of your carpet.
The professional carpet cleaners at Electrodry normally use spot-cleaning methods on red wine stains to make them easier to remove during the dry cleaning process. Although we're confident in our ability to remove red wine stains, there are some instances where we cannot guarantee stain removal. Things such as the type and age of the carpet will affect how easy it will be to clean the carpet and whether the red wine stain can be successfully removed.
When you need your carpets cleaned and dried quickly, dry cleaning is the best option. Carpet dry cleaning uses special powders or chemicals that are applied with water and pushed into the fibres of the carpet until all dirt has been removed from it so they can be ready for foot traffic as soon as possible. A rotating brush works to get rid of any excess powder while an extraction tool removes what’s left behind. This traps more particles within its bristles which will then fall out during washing cycles due to natural shedding.
In order to expedite the drying process of your carpet, there are a couple of things you could do:
Open your doors and windows - this will encourage ventilation and speed up the drying time of your carpet
Move your furniture – consider moving sofas, chairs, and other furniture away from the room when drying your carpet to allow for better air circulation.
Use standing fans – using standing fans helps to speed up air circulation, especially if you set it up near an open door.
Use a dehumidifier – if you live in a relatively humid area, use a dehumidifier to keep moisture levels down to a minimum and to help the carpet dry faster.
If you want to reduce the impact of pollen in your home, professional carpet cleaning is key. Carpets that have been deep cleaned by a professional can help remove potential allergens before they have time to settle and create problems for hay fever sufferers, particularly in climates such as the Riverina.
