We all know a bathroom needs to be hygienic, but functionality is important, too.

Whether you have a small bathroom or something more grand, we could all do with a little extra storage.

Get the best out of your bathroom with these brilliant ideas.

How To Get More Storage Space in Your Bathroom

Getting your bathroom organised can be tough. Most importantly, you need to prioritise what is going to work best for your family in a practical sense.

For my family at the moment, having somewhere to neatly stow away kid’s bath toys as needed plus extra towel storage is key.

Here are our top four tips.

1. Utilise Dead Space

Scan your bathroom for areas you may not be utilising as you should.

Something such as a caddy on the back of the entry door or a tub under a floating vanity are great places to store extra toilet rolls.

Provided the layout allows, you could also implement a storage shelf over the top of the toilet. floating shelf looks stylish and is a fantastic place to keep face washers, air fresheners, additional toilet rolls, or even something like a small indoor plant or candle.

Get smart when picking a shower caddy, too. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and looks so you should have no trouble finding what works best for your space.

2. Make The Most Of What You Have

Chances are, your bathroom cabinets and drawers are a mishmash of items, thrown in without much thought or planning.

Getting your existing cabinets or drawers organised will save you a heap of time and likely make you realise you have more space than you think.

  • Start by sifting through what you have stashed in there and throw out anything that is expired or that you haven’t used for a long time.
  • Have a think about whether you could be storing things elsewhere in the house – for example, do certain items belong in the first aid kit you have in the kitchen?
  • Keep items in categories. Drawer separators are a great way to get everything organised and have items ready when you need them.

3. Invest In Suitable Storage Units

If you shop around, you’ll find plenty of storage unit options to suit your space. Narrow options such as these for just $71 from Fantastic Furniture are a great addition for smaller bathrooms.

Open display options such as shelf ladders are on-trend at the moment and can offer extra storage while modernising your space. This option is small enough to be out of the way but can hold quite a few items and looks chic in any bathroom.

Another idea is to mount a set of baskets on the wall. You’ll have to do your research when picking baskets, but your best bet is to opt for something small and rectangular.

4. Get Creative
